Mental Health Commissioner Bronnie Taylor MLC and NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet have announced the investment of $109.5m for Child and Adolescent Mental Health.

It is believed this investment will give thousands of children and teenagers across NSW access to specialised care.

Taylor says this is “the single largest ever investment in NSW history in child and adolescent mental health. The Safeguards Child and Adolescent Mental Health Response teams is a game-changing model which is specifically tailored to target the acute needs of children and teenagers experiencing mental health issues.

“This is all about bringing the right care at the right time, in the right place for children and their families. We’re building a safer, stronger NSW.”

It is believed flying squads of professionals will be sent to at-risk or mentally ill young people.
