Fams welcomes announcement of $13 million for early intervention family violence project

We know that with the right support, investing early and promoting safety, we can improve the trajectory of outcomes for children and young people.

That’s why we welcome DCJ’s announcement of the Safe and Strong Project – an early intervention family violence project. The $13 million comes from the Commonwealth through the Family, Domestic, and Sexual Violence Responses National Partnership Agreement 2023-25.

Safe and Strong is a dual model of early intervention support for both victim survivors of family violence and their children. Safe and Strong providers and practitioners will extend family support services to families facing or at risk of family violence.

32 organisations will receive funding to deliver Safe and Strong with 11 ACCOs to be funded in priority locations across NSW from September 2024.
