Keep the fire burning: Blak, loud and proud! Fams celebrates NAIDOC week 2024

To celebrate NAIDOC Week, the Fams team headed out to different NAIDOC events across Greater Sydney.

Cass attended Campbelltown City Council’s Community Connection Day on Dharawal lands.

“It was so great to share in this celebration at such a special gathering. A particularly special moment for me was when a young woman showed me her beautiful emu feather bracelets and told me a bit about how she uses them in her dances” says Cass

Meanwhile, Lauren headed to Gameygal land for the 3Bridges and Georges River Council NAIDOC week Youth & Family Day.

Susan was invited to attend an event at Weave’s Gadigal office, enjoying yarn, tea, and tucker. She had the honor of learning weaving techniques and crafting a lovely bracelet in the process.

The entire Fams team are thankful for the opportunity to share in this celebration of 65,000 years of culture and history together with their Aboriginal friends, colleagues and community.
