National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day takes place every year on 4 August. The theme for this year’s National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day is ‘Strong in Culture, Stronger Together’.
This year, we celebrate the culture, stories, family, and community of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children.
We understand these connections are vital to children’s health and wellbeing. These connections make children unique, strong, and the promising leaders of tomorrow.
We support the day’s vision to see children to thrive, be strong in their culture and connected to kin and community. That’s why we support AbSec’s call for the establishment of an Independent Commission and appointment of a Commissioner for Aboriginal Children and Young in their recent Family Is Culture report card.
