Fams hosts Ministerial Roundtable with Minister for Families and Communities

Fams hosts Ministerial Roundtable with Minister for Families and Communities

This week, Fams had the privilege of hosting a roundtable featuring 20 representatives from the early intervention sector and the Hon. Kate Washington MP, Minister for Families and Communities, and Minister for Disability Inclusion.

Representatives had the opportunity to raise the challenges and causes for hope in our sector.

An interactive panel discussion also highlighted the immense value of fostering connections and the deep bonds our sector has developed within their communities. These relationships are often the backbone of our work and key pillars for building supportive communities where children and families thrive.

Susan Watson, our CEO said “We had a very constructive morning with the Minister, and I thank her for taking the time to hear directly from service providers the reality of providing support to children, young people and families.”

After the Ministerial Roundtable, we engaged in a debrief with sector representatives to reflect on the discussions and map out next steps to maintain the momentum gained.
