Practice Governance

This initiative is designed to strengthen practice governance within the early intervention and prevention sector, specifically addressing the unique needs of small to medium-sized organisations.

In partnership with the Parenting Research Centre, we are working alongside a group of dedicated organisations leading this project: Family Support Newcastle, The Canopy Inc, Tamworth Family Support Service Ltd, Blue Mountains Family Support Service Inc (Thrive Services), Junaya Family Development Services, and New England Family Support Service Incorporated.

Practice governance is vital for elevating service quality. By embedding an organisation’s vision, values, and beliefs deeply into their operational practices, we aim to create a strong link between practice and outcomes at every level of the organisation, including the board.

This approach underscores the essential relationship between practitioners and clients, ensuring that practice remains front and center in all organisational endeavors. Together, we are ensuring that community organisations possess the necessary governance mechanisms to effectively support their operations.

We aspire to create a publicly accessible blueprint for a practice governance framework that has been rigorously tested within the sector.

This project will empower smaller organisations, which often face time and resource constraints, to establish a governance framework that caters to their specific needs.
